Farrell Construction Earns National Building of the Year Award

Farrell Construction of Neosho, Mo., was honored with the National Building of the Year award by Metallic Building Company on June 25, 2013.  The award ceremony was held during a luncheon at the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce.

Dennis Farrell, president, and Cory Farrell, vice president, were presented the prestigious award for a project at Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, Okla.  The large-scale construction project involved Farrell Construction erecting a new structure over the existing tent-like building.  The new metal building frame spanned 105 feet in length and 68 feet in height, taking 14 months to complete.  During the duration of the project, Buffalo Run Casino was able to stay in operation, only having to completely shut down for three hours in the entire building process.

“Winning the Building of the Year award from Metallic Building Company is something every Metallic builder dreams of,” said Cory.  “But it doesn’t seem very likely to happen.  This is a great honor.”

Of the thousands of projects per year, a mere two dozen are nominated for national awards.  The nominated projects are then considered candidates for merit awards.
